DreamSensor Denmark ApS is a drone-mounted sensor system designed to increase minefield survey coverage from around 10 m² a day manually to up to 10,000 m² a day using an aerial platform, developed with the Department of Physics at Odesa Polytechnic.
The full investor presentation: the problem, the technology, the market and the roadmap.
Already mined, more than Denmark, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Moldova and Belgium combined
Needed to fully clear Ukraine of mines and other unexploded ordnance at the current pace
Coverage from manual survey alone, searching for plastic mines and PFM-1 ("petal") mines
DreamSensor combines a carrier drone, software, cameras, a metal detector, a magnetometer and a multispectral camera with the DreamSensor unit itself, which is designed to detect explosive objects directly. Together, they are designed to turn a sapper's manual survey into an aerial one, increasing coverage from roughly 10 m² a day to up to 10,000 m² a day.
Developed jointly with the Department of Physics at Odesa Polytechnic, DreamSensor registers different types of response to safe-level neutron and gamma radiation exposure, then determines the concentration ratio of the chemical elements H:C:N:O contained in each explosive substance, calculating both the explosive substance and the type of unexploded ordnance. The result is delivered as an augmented-reality application that displays detected ordnance directly on the operator's device, geolocated in the field.
The 1,000× figure is a system-level design target, not yet a field-proven result: it depends on the core explosive-detection sensor, currently TRL 4 and validated only in laboratory conditions. The carrier drone and its supporting sensors (metal detector, magnetometer, multispectral camera) are considerably further along.
